Health informatics is one of the fastest growing career fields in healthcare. A number of accredited colleges and universities now offer online health informatics degree programs. We’ve put together this rankings of some of the best online Associate’s degrees in Health Informatics to help you find the right program for your budget and needs. #1. Kaplan University

Kaplan University, a subsidiary of Kaplan, Inc., is an institute of higher learning offering associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degree programs through onsite and online coursework. Kaplan University focuses on continuing education, with 63 percent of its 50,000 students over the age of 30. About 15 percent of its students have a military affiliation.

Program Overview
Kaplan University’s Associate of Applied Science in Health Information Technology degree program is designed to give students the knowledge and technical skills needed to succeed in the field of health information. The program combines online coursework with hands-on experience in real-world clinical settings. #2. Northwestern College

Founded in Chicago in 1902, Northwestern College is a career-oriented undergraduate college offering associate’s degrees and certificates in 17 different programs. Northwestern College currently has three campuses in Bridgeview, Chicago and Naperville, Illinois and also offers online courses on its virtual campus.

Program Overview
Northwestern College offers an accredited associate’s degree program in Health Information Technology, which focuses on compiling, coding and maintaining patient records efficiently and securely. #3. Rasmussen College

Rasmussen College is a private undergraduate college, founded in 1900, that today operates 22 campuses in the Midwest and Florida. Students can enroll in over 80 associate’s and bachelor’s degree programs in person or online. Rasmussen features a comprehensive network of student support services called SUPPORT+ and has over 100,000 alumni worldwide.

Program Overview
Rasmussen College offers an Health Information Technician (HIT) associate’s degree program that can be completed in as little in 18 months. Program Overview
Anthem College Online offers a comprehensive associate’s degree program in health information management. Concentration courses include instruction in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology and medical office management as well as the implementation and maintenance of information technology in a healthcare setting. 24-hour forums allow students to interact with peers and professors at any time, and the online setting enables students to access their course materials and instructional videos on their own schedules.
